Swimming Pool Games Are Summer’s Most Fun

We wrote a blog post called Classic Pool Games and had great feedback. Our team at Aqua Fun Pools decided to offer you a few more pool game ideas with a focus this time on Modern Pool Games.

Water Hoops

Love basketball or volleyball? If so, then you will love water hoops. There is an entire cottage industry built just for pool games. Water Hoops is at the top of the most popular Modern Pool Game list. Check out the different types of water hoops for sale on Amazon – inflatable basketball hoops, side mounted basketball goal, volleyball hoops and  floating basketball goals. This is a great way to bring family and friends together in a competitive manner.

Another Water Hoop Game smaller children love to play is swimming underwater, through a hula-hoop.

Watermelon Relay

Watermelon, as we all know, is a Summer fresh fruit staple and is also known for it’s All-American, Summertime image. Fun thing is, whole watermelons can easily become a thrilling pool game. You have to be in decent shape because technically you won’t be ale to touch the bottom. Players must push a watermelon from one end of the pool to the other with other touching the bottom of the pool with their feet. The challenge comes with a greased down melon.

Fish

Have you ever played games with the basketball such as P-I-G or H-O-R-S-E? Well think of Fish as the swimming pool version of P-I-G or H-O-R-S-E. It’s a repetitive game where player #1 performs a task that must be repeated. If any of the players are unable to do the task then they get the first letter in the word F-I-S-H. Be careful, whoever gets all four letters looses. Also, rules should be set to determine fairness.

Octopus

In the pool game called Octopus, someone is “IT”. It’s similar to Sharks & Minnows but in this game, the solo-Octopus or “IT” stands in the middle of the pool while players line up one one side of the pool and attempt to get to the other side without being tagged. Whoever gets tagged has to hold hands with “IT” and they tag the players together. With each round, the Octopus arms extend further and all players must be tagged. Then a new round can start and a new “IT” can be picked.
