Pools Built
who we are

Our Story

Andy and Rachel Cook built Aqua Fun Pools on a foundation of hard work, craftsmanship, and integrity. Andy began his pool career in the 1980s, supporting and training builders across the Southeast before launching his own company in 2001.

With Rachel managing operations, finances, and customer relations, the two turned Aqua Fun into one of North Georgia’s most respected pool builders, specializing in gunite, fiberglass, and vinyl liner pools.

Their shared belief — “Build every pool as if it were your own” — became the company’s guiding principle, shaping how every job is handled to this day.

our dedicated team

A Family Tradition of Quality and Care

Today, Aqua Fun is a true family operation.

Their daughter Marie Cook leads the Service & Renovation Division, ensuring every customer receives the same hands-on attention and professionalism that define the Aqua Fun name.

Their son Robbie Cook heads Construction & Technical Systems, bringing technical mastery and innovation to each project — from equipment automation to complex pool builds. Together, they carry forward the Cook family tradition of quality, integrity, and customer care that Georgia families have trusted for generations.

Together, the Cook family has built Aqua Fun into one of Georgia’s most respected pool companies, offering complete backyard transformations — from custom pool construction to maintenance and outdoor living design.

Their family-run approach ensures every project, large or small, receives the same care, craftsmanship, and attention that have defined Aqua Fun for more than 40 years.

Our Philosophy

At Aqua Fun, we don’t believe in shortcuts. Every pool is planned, built, and cared for with the same pride we’d have in our own backyard. We know what works in Georgia — the soil, the weather, the water chemistry — and we stand behind every pool we build. Customers choose Aqua Fun not just for the product, but for the people behind it: approachable experts who treat every homeowner like family and every project like it matters — because it does.

FAQ

Georgia Pool Owners’ Master FAQ

From permits to pool care, equipment upgrades to design inspiration, this master FAQ brings together the most common homeowner questions — answered by your local Georgia pool specialists at My Aqua Fun Pools.

Most residential pools take about 8–12 weeks from start to finish, depending on design complexity, weather delays, and county inspections. Rain and red clay soil can slow excavation, but a well-planned schedule keeps things on track.

Yes. Every Georgia county requires a permit, site plan, and inspections. My Aqua Fun Pools handles all of this for clients — including setbacks, HOA approvals, and county coordination.

For long-term durability and design freedom, gunite (concrete) is the most popular choice. Fiberglass pools are great for quick installs, and vinyl pools remain the most affordable option — but they require liner replacements every 7–10 years.

Absolutely. Retaining walls, tiered decks, or plunge-pool designs can turn tight or sloped lots into beautiful outdoor spaces. Georgia’s terrain often requires creative grading, but we’ve built dozens of successful hillside pools.

Think about how you’ll use it — swimming laps, entertaining, or family playtime. For most backyards, 14×28 to 16×32 feet feels spacious without overwhelming the yard.

Skim daily, brush walls weekly, and vacuum once or twice a week. Even with automation, light manual cleaning keeps surfaces smooth and prevents buildup.

At least twice a week during summer and once a week in cooler months. Georgia’s pollen, rain, and heat make chemistry fluctuate quickly.

Test pH and chlorine, shock the pool if needed, and run the pump for 24 hours. Rain dilutes chemicals and introduces contaminants — especially in tree-heavy neighborhoods.

It’s usually a combination of high phosphates and low chlorine. Treat both — shock first, then use a phosphate remover to prevent recurrence.

Upgrade to a variable-speed pump and saltwater system, and use a robotic cleaner. These tools dramatically reduce weekly work and chemical costs.

If you want gentler water and less frequent chemical handling, yes. Saltwater systems generate chlorine naturally, keeping levels consistent and reducing eye and skin irritation.

They do — cells must be cleaned periodically, and salt levels monitored — but they’re still easier than manual chlorination.
